Planting Bulbs for Spring!

This week we have been out in the garden planting daffodils ready for spring time. I love daffodils and I always remember as a child seeing them and thinking spring was really here. I think they are a great thing to have in the garden to help teach children about the seasons.

We got our bulbs from the local garden centre.

Daddy picked a flower bed which hasn't got a lot going on and started preparing the soil. Once the children realised he was up to something they went to investigate and Abigail got out her gardening stuff ready to help.

Dig a hole, 3 times bigger than the bulb.

Get your bulb.

Put it in the hole.

Cover it with soil. Easy peasy.

So there we are, all planted and ready for the Springtime!!

Gardening with the whole family involved - great! What a lovely activity for the children to join in with and then see their reward in Spring. Thanks for linking up and sharing your outdoor fun with Country Kids.

Now that's thinking ahead! This is why I wish we had a garden. I need to start thinking outside the box for my wee man.
